Adjusting copies to your needs
The copy menu usually offers helpful options beyond a plain duplicate. You can enlarge or reduce the size to fit different paper, switch between color and black and white, adjust how light or dark the copy is, and on many models copy onto both sides of the page. Placing the original squarely on the glass and closing the lid fully keeps the edges clean and the image straight. Taking a moment to set these options gives you a copy that matches what you actually need instead of a rough approximation.
Fixing poor copy quality
When copies come out streaky, faint, or with marks, the scanner glass is often the culprit. Wipe it gently with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove dust and smudges that show up on every copy. Faint output can mean low ink or toner, while lines usually point to a dirty glass or a printhead that needs cleaning. Make sure you are using clean, flat paper as well. When copies stay poor
